charlotteONE first impressions…

CharlotteONE was awesome! went w/ Joel, met up with Bethany, Justin, Kristin and others afterwards… pretty suite setup… great service even though we got there way late… but it was all good… i def. encourage any college/young adult to go on Tuesday nights at 7pm they are currently meeting at Steele Creek Community Church (exit 3 on I 77)… anyway, just wanted to say it was awesome and i intend to be there every week now… suite! have an awesome week!

i got a hold of an early copy of Shawn McDonald’s new cd Scattered Pieces… it’s another live cd… his second… i love live cds… well, i love them if they are live versions of already recorded songs, i like having the nice clean studio version and then the raw, uncut, in the moment live songs… anyway, the cd is great… has 17 songs on it, 13 oldies but goodies and 4 new ones which will hopefully make it on his next studio recording… you also get 2 bonus songs from his website with the cd… anyway, enough with the sales pitch… i get to see Shawn on May 1st with Shane & Shane and Phil Wickahm at CharlotteOne… i’m pretty psyched… gonna try to take a decent sized group with me like i did for the Warren Barfield concert at Christ Community Church back in September last year… speaking of Warren, the kid needs a live cd too… anyway, gonna run for now… just figured i’d post something about this and all that’s related since i hadn’t posted anything in a while…

fellowship of the unashamed

I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed.

The dye has been cast.

The decision has been made.

I have stepped over the line.

I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.

I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotion, plaudits, or popularity.

I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.

I now live by faith, leaning on His presence, love with patience, live by prayer, and labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and spoken up for the cause of Jesus Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I must go until He comes, give until I drop, preach until all know, work until He stops me; and when He comes for His own He will have no problem recognizing me.

My banner is clear because I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed.

okay… i just really want one… Mac’s are sweet… not giving up my pc… just want a MacBook too… really really bad… maybe one day… ha!

i just really want to be able to go to all these coffee shops or other places that have WiFi and just sit and relax and people watch, blog, surf… i dunno… guess i miss my old laptop (not the laptop itself, just the idea of it) and the fact that Mac’s are sweet kinda adds to the desire… i’ll have one by my birthday this year i think (birthday present to myself)… we’ll see…

just a quickie… i love the part “now my eyes are fixed on You, and i can’t look away…” lately i continue to be reminded that it’s not about me, it’s not about me, it’s all about Him, all about God… it’s not who i am, or what i can do, it’s who HE is and what HE’S done! duh! i’ve heard this for years, maybe not exactly like that, but i’ve heard it none-the-less and it really hasn’t sunk in until now! wow! how thick headed and egotistical have i been?! i’ve spent so many years looking into the mirror when i should BE the mirror, reflecting Christ to all those around me… it’s not about me, it’s about Him and He should be the one getting all the focus and all the glory and not me…

i used to be afraid of accomplishing great things because i am so afraid of being in the spot light, i’m humble by nature, it’s how i was raised and just part of the way the Lord built me, but i’m not so afraid anymore because it’s not gonna be me doing the accomplishing… i won’t be doing anything great… it will be God doing “the doing”… He’ll be the one in the spot light, the focus will be on Him, i’m just a vessel… whatever He wants to do with me and however He wants to do it… it’s time to truly get over myself, after all, like i’ve been saying here, it’s not about me…

it’s been a few weeks since a song has hit me as hard as this one did on my drive home tonight… God just tends to show up, whenever, wherever, however He chooses… and as unpredictable and untameable as He is, that’s one of the most comforting and reassuring things to experience… i love Him for who He is, my Savior, my Creator, my Healer, my Redeemer… my Father and my God… i just don’t understand how anyone can turn away from His love, in the good and the bad times… i know it’s hard to see Him at work when we are going through crap, sometimes it’s hard to see Him at work during the prosperous times in our lives… we tend to focus our attention on the things our eyes can see, not THE thing that is unseen… that’s why faith is so amazing… it’s the belief of the unseen, trust in the unseen, the love of the unseen…

i’ll admit, i stole the following from Facing The Giants, but it’s so true in all aspects of life and i’m trying my best to live this way… to praise God when we win, and to praise God when we lose… praise God at all times, for everything, through the good, the bad, and the ugly… just living to give Him all the glory and honor and praise… that’s what i’m here for… to be a mirror, a humble reflection, and to share that with those with eyes to see…

think i’m gonna start posting “book reviews” or just share what books i’m currently devouring… right now i’m about 1/2 way through Samson and the Pirate Monks by Nate Larkin… good book… raw and honest so far and is striking a lot of chords with me… good for guys (college and up) who like Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller like writing…
